THE CRC PROGRAM

The CRC Program

The Alertness CRC was part of the Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Program, which supports medium to long-term, industry-led research collaborations, and seeks to help improve the competitiveness, productivity and sustainability of Australian industry.

CRC Program support is offered in two ways:

  • CRC Grants: Medium to long-term industry-led collaborative research for up to 10 years.
  • CRC Projects (CRC-P) grants: Short-term, industry-led collaborative research for up to three years.

The CRC Association

The Cooperative Research Centres Association (CRCA) is a not-for-profit organisation operating to promote the pursuit of science, particularly through the Australian Government’s CRC Program.

Established in December 1994, the CRCA aims to make a positive contribution to:

  • Securing the healthy, long-term survival of the CRC Program through representing the interests of CRCs and CRC-Ps to government, industry and the broader community; and
  • The efficient operation and best practice management of the CRCs and CRC-Ps through facilitating networking and sharing of experiences and knowledge.
